Just wanna promote this place and share my experiences dealing with people at this place. Bear in mind I don’t get any commission or discounts or special rate by doing this. Since I find this hospital offers good service and is reasonably priced, why not spread the words.
My first experience at DEMC was way back in 2004. I was a few weeks pregnant when all of a sudden I started to bleed. A friend of Hubby brought me to DEMC for treatment since Hubby was having his final exam paper at that exact time. Sadly to say, I lost the baby and had to undergo D&C. Dr. Norleen, the O&G, was very proficient in soothing me as if she had known me all my life.
Since that day, we as a family had been regular customers at DEMC. I gave birth to Zarra and Irfan there. Besides Dr. Norleen, I also have good rapport with Dr. Mazita, another O&G who is very motherly. Both my labor experiences were wonderful. What I like most is the minute my babies came out of me; they were greeted with Assalamualaikum and Alhamdulillah by my doctor and nurses on duty. What a wonderful way to welcome a new baby into this world!
All of my children go there for their immunizations and regular check-ups. Their pediatrician, Dr. Roliza, is one superb doctor in handling babies and kids. She’s ever so soft and knows how to tackle children and most importantly knows how to win their trusts. In fact come to think of it, all my three kids have never wailed for any jabs so far. Of course they cried a little but not uncontrollably or for a long time.
I had also experienced being hospitalized here. Oh, don’t get me start on DEMC’s menu. Just let me say this, I had tough time deciding what to eat at each meal time. My stay was a pleasant one. The doctors, nurses and staff’s services were excellent. They were polite and attentive. I know good service is expected since it is a private medical center (berbayarkan!) but you’ll be well treated here irrespective of your background.

After asam pedas eating, sightseeing, crocodile watching and water splashing sessions, we completed our trip with a seafood dinner at the famous Ikan Bakar Parameswara, Umbai. This famous restaurant is situated at Medan Ikan Bakar Pernu-Umbai, near the jetty to Pulau Besar. Each vehicle is charged RM1 to get into this area. The view is undeniably unique and beautiful.
I don’t know was it my taste bud or the cooking, I found all the food we ordered were bland. Maybe my expectation was too high considering how often people mention this restaurant or maybe we chose wrong recipes or cooking methods for each dish that did not complement the raw ingredients. Even my sour sop juice was watery and did not have sour sop taste to it at all. Seriously, I’ve tasted better seafood cooking before…much better.
