Restoran Diana 3 Seafood, KL, Apr 2012

Dear Diary,

Many of us know that Kampung Baru area is a food haven especially for local cuisine. It is scattered with eating places, big and small. We can find variety of foods being sold in every corner and lane. One night we were in the vicinity of Kampung Baru, so Hubby decided to bring us to one place that he used to frequent before, Diana 3 Seafood.

One look at the place, maybe some of us wouldn’t even consider eating there. But don’t pass any judgment just yet until you taste the food there. The Kelantanese cook sure knows his stuff. We had a fabulous time finishing everything on the plate that night.

I’m not sure of the restaurant’s address but it is located near a police station and AKLEH exit. It’s towards the end of a road (Jalan Raja Abdullah). Come to think of it, this restaurant is not situated in Kampung Baru area only nearby to it. Silly me!

Kenangan Itu

Dear Diary,

Setiap kali Ramadhan hadir, kenangan manis pasti datang bertandang.

My Kopi Shoppe, Shah Alam

Dear Diary,

JACKPOT!!!! Found another restaurant that we love in Shah Alam area. We’ve frequented it often, at least once a month, sometimes more. The foods are deliciously good and reasonably priced. Almost 90% of items we ordered were to our likings. The foods there just clicked with our taste buds.

Another plus point is it is located near to my parents in law’s house. The place that I’m talking about is My Kopi Shoppe in Subang Permai. With all these reasons, what is there not to like about it.

The restaurant is minimally decorated, nothing fancy. Service is also good.

Imran's favorite beverage - Mango Juice. Marvelous! Pekat and pure rasa mango.

Address: Jalan Alfa F U6/F, Pusat Perdagangan Subang Permai, 40150 Shah Alam, Selangor.

Hevea Cafeteria, Shah Alam, Mar 2012

Dear Diary,

Have you ever used trunk road connecting Subang town or Shah Alam with Sungai Buloh? If you’re a plants enthusiast, you’d definitely plied this road at least once because it is dotted with many plant nurseries and landscaping companies along the way. You can get all sorts of plants at very good bargains.

Long before Guthrie or PLUS highways, this road is one of the main route to reach Sungai Buloh. Besides plant nurseries, you’ll also notice lots of rubber tress. That’s because Stesyen Penyelidikan RRIM of Lembaga Getah Malaysia (RRI) is tucked somewhere beyond the rubber trees.

When you enter RRI, you will somehow feel like you’re transported into another era. Its strong kampong environment evokes memories of days gone by. The quietness and tranquility welcome you. Somewhere in that peaceful setting, lie a small canteen named Hevea Cafeteria. Don’t be deceived by its quaint look because you’d find delicious food and friendly staffs there.

We had a chance to have lunch there one fine day. Our orders were Nasi Goreng Ikan Masin with Telur Dadar, Nasi Goreng Cili Padi with Telur Dadar, Nasi Goreng Cina (no veggie) and Mi Goreng. Although at a glance all the fried rice look the same, their tastes are definitely not. Each has its own distinctive taste. Not only they are tasty, the portion is also very generous that made us feel full until late evening.

The star of the day was definitely the fried noodle. I was perplexed as to why fried noodles can be seen at almost every table and almost 90% of the customers arrived after us ordered fried noodles. One taste vanquished my puzzle. It was very delicious!

Anak Daraku Sorang

Dear Diary,

Alahai, anak dara Mama sorang ni! Lagak macam budak besar padahal baru 4 tahun.

Bab-bab melaram serah kat dia. Nak bergaya sokmo!

Darling, it's such a pleasure watching you grow. Thank you Allah for this golden opportunity.

Sno, Sunway Pyramid, Mac 2012

Dear Diary,

Tengoklah dua beradik ni sibuk memilih….pandai ke shopping?
After savoring delicious Middle Eastern cuisine at Tarbush, we stepped inside Jusco Sunway Pyramid. No intention of buying anything, we just window shopped and walked around to loosen up our full tummies. Boleh jugak cuci matakan :-)

Before leaving Sunway Pyramid for home, we made one final stop for some refreshments at Sno. It is a kiosk that sells shakes (use ice cream) and smoothies (use frozen yoghurt). Quite a variety of items to choose from, I tell you. There are Wild Sno, Easy Sno, Sno Signature, Sno Shakes and Snoothies.

What’s even more interesting is that customers can create their own drinks (which are named Wild Sno) by choosing which ingredients to put inside. There are 3 steps to follow. First, choose your base namely vanilla ice cream, green tea ice cream and frozen yoghurt. Next, choose your blended flavors ranging from assorted chocolates, several types of fruits, local favorites and everything else in between. Last, choose your add-on toppings.

I tried concocting my own Wild Sno and it came out surprisingly yummy. I chose vanilla ice cream, Daim Bar and apple topped with whipped cream.
