Haagen Dazs, Sunway Pyramid, Feb 2012

Dear Diary,

After having dinner at Burger King, we indulged into something cool and sweet. It was an ice cream treat but not just any ice cream but Haagen Dazs ice cream. Boleh bilang dengan jari berapa kali je kami makan Haagen Dazs, selalunya Baskin Robbins menjadi pujaan hati.

Belgian Chocolate - taste heavenly

Raspberry Sorbet - taste sourly

Burger King, Sunway Pyramid, Feb 2012

Dear Diary,

I bought Burger King’s voucher through myDEAL a few months back. The RM19.90 voucher consists of 1 Whopper Black Pepper Value Set Meal (medium), 1 BBQ Cheese Burger and 2 medium drinks. I chose to redeem it at Sunway Pyramid’s outlet. In addition to those, we also ordered Double Whopper Set Meal and Chicken Tender.

I took my first bite only to find that something’s amiss. The burger lacked meaty taste. In a haste of things, the Burger King’s worker “forgot” or “missed” putting beef patty in my burger. When I enquired about it, I was given a new Whopper as a replacement without any objection. At last, I can enjoy my juicy Black Pepper Whopper for a burger would be meaningless without the patty right.

If I were to choose between among numerous fast food chains available for best burger, I would choose McDonald’s anytime simply because its burgers are pleasingly tasty and reasonably priced. Still, Burger King would come close in second place. This is solely my opinion based strictly on my taste and experiences.

The Loaf, Empire Shopping Gallery, Feb 2012

Dear Diary,

I’ve wanted to try produces from The Loaf since forever and finally my wishes were fulfilled.

After enjoying a wonderful dinner at Serai, we were treated to some cheesecakes, a brownie and a pastry from The Loaf for desserts. The cheesecakes were splendid! Alhamdulillah…

Serai, Empire Shopping Gallery, Feb 2012

Dear Diary,

Again and again Ermayum mentioned Serai in her blog. Out of curiosity I recommended Serai to Hubby when we went to Empire one night. One thing about Serai is that more often than not you’d have to queue up to be seated. Sometimes if you’re not so lucky, the queue could be quite long. That was the case when we wanted to eat there before that we ended up dining at Ole Ole Bali. This time we waited patiently for about 30 minutes before we were shown to our table.

While waiting to be seated, I feasted my eyes on the array of desserts on display. I was tempted to try them but looking at the prices I quickly cancelled my intention. A slice of cake on average costs more than RM10. Takut tak kena dengan selera, duit dah melayang!

First impression of Serai is cozy. I love its interior décor. So inviting and soothing! Fresh flowers are placed nicely on each table. I praised the speedy service. The employees were attentive and courteous.

Both Hubby and I concurred that the Western dishes were more delicious than the local dishes. The prices for some of the items are on the high end of the scale. Sekali-sekala boleh la, rabak poket kalau selalu-selalu.

Buttered Prawn - yummy

Nasi Ambang

Serai Platter

Crispy Skinned Salmon - yummy

Mini Cheese Burger with Chips (Kid's menu) - yummy

Chicken Mushroom Spaghetti (Kid's menu) - super yummy

Vanilla & Fresh Bananas Shake - yummy, Mint Calamansi Soda - yummy, Serai Iced Tea

Zarra's Incident

Dear Diary,

Something happened during our stay in Kedah last week. One night, we went out to see snake exhibition at the State Museum. After that, we wanted to go to McDonald’s City Plaza for dinner. We arrived at the destination, parked our car and crossed the street.

Everything was according to plan at first. There were 3 adults and 6 children. To cross the street, Hubby held Irfan, I held Imran’s and Zarra’s hands; while my brother handled his three girls. As we safely reached the other side of the road, my two nieces (Amirah and Athirah) ran ahead of everybody else. I was talking to (scolding more correctly) Imran and my attention were on him. Zarra broke free from my grip and ran towards her two cousins. Then, suddenly all of us heard a loud sound.

BANG!

And I saw Zarra lying on the ground (face up), crying. I rushed to her side and hugged her, consoling her at the same time. All the while I was thinking that she was hurting at the back of her head from the fall. When I looked at her face, blood was dripping from her forehead to her nose. Dah lemah lutut time ni! To my surprise, there was a wound on her forehead. It was quite deep. She had run directly into a steel bar of a big poster. The poster was a permanent kind, so you can imagine how strong the steel is. It was only a few steps away from me. As the bar is the same height as she is, Zarra did not notice it as her focus was to get to her cousins. She must have run very fast to produce that kind of wound.

Straightaway, we went to Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah. Tears started to well up in my eyes as I walked back to the car and rolled down my face on the way to the Emergency Room. We managed to stop the bleeding en route to the hospital. I kept asking her whether she feels nauseated, fainting or any head aches.

To cut the story short, she ended up with 1 jab on her arm (nak elak kancing gigi) and 1 stitch on her forehead. She’s one brave girl, going through all the procedures without any fuss. She cried of course but no big drama whatsoever. The stitch was done without any anesthesia, mind you.

Alhamdulillah semua dah elok. Dugaan ni kecik je kalau nak banding dugaan orang lain yang ada anak berpenyakit serius.

Ps: Hubby ejek sebab i menangis beria-ia. Anak dara sorang tu ja you!

Hi there

Dear Diary,

Sorry for the long absence. It's school holidays. We've been here and there. A wedding in Melaka during the first weekend, then went balik kampung to Alor Setar and an unplanned stop in Ipoh. Now, we're resting at home.

Stay tune for more entries. Once I get back my writing mood (^-^) ....soon hopefully.
