11 Years and Counting

Dear Diary,

Today, 30th June, is our 11th anniversary. I'm no expert with words so I'm dedicating this song specially for you my dearest....

TRULY MADLY DEEPLY
by Savage Garden

I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy
I'll be your hope, I'll be your love
Be everything that you need
I'll love you more with every breath truly madly deeply do...
I will be strong I will be faithful cause I'm counting on
A new beginning
A reason for living
A deeper meaning

I want to stand with you on a mountain
I want to bathe with you in the sea
I want to lay like this forever
Until the sky falls down on me

And when the stars are shining brightly in the velvet sky
I'll make a wish send it to heaven then make you want to cry
The tears of joy for all the pleasure and the certainty
That we're surrounded by the comfort and protection of
The highest powers
In lonely hours when tears devour you

Oh can you see it baby?
You don't have to close your eyes cause it's standing right before you
All that you need will surely come

Nando's, SACC Mall, Mar 2012

Dear Diary,

We were at SACC Mall and among the first few eateries that we saw was Nando’s. Tergerak hati nak try. In my entire life, can you believe that was my second time eating Nando’s? The first time which was ages ago was for broke fast on my uncle’s treat.

The food was not bad. It was quite delicious, in fact. With friendly staffs on board and unique interior décor, we would definitely be visiting Nando’s again.

¼ Chicken (lemon & herb) with Coleslaw & Mediterranean Rice as sidelines – like the lemon & herb sauce

¼ Chicken (extra hot) with Peri Potato Salad & Peri 3 Bean Salad as sidelines

Chicken Pita (mild hot) with Peri Potato Salad as sideline – nice

Mediterranean Rice – yummy, Hot Chocolate, Coke & Tea

Do check out their cool website. I like it!!! It's refreshingly different.

Sebab Rezeki Susah Masuk

Dear Diary,

Something to share.

Antara sebab MENGAPA REZEKI SUSAH NAK MASUK

1. Gemar mengungkit-ungkit pemberian
2. Asyik mencanang perihal duit yang tidak cukup untuk urusan itu dan ini
3. Berkira untuk bersedekah walaupun seringgit
4. Berkira untuk membantu memudahkan hal yang baik
5. Riak bila bersedekah
6. Banyak berbuat maksiat/kemungkaran
7. Tidak/kurang beristighfar
8. Tidak bersyukur / banyak mengeluh

Rezeki bukan sahaja dalam bentuk wang, tetapi kebahagiaan, peluang menyambung pelajaran, peluang kerja, anak, jodoh dan lain-lain.

Sama-samalah kita mengambil pengajaran...

Johnny's Restaurant, Berjaya Times Square, Mar 2012

Dear Diary,

Yet, another visit to Johnny’s! I don’t know why whenever we feel like having steamboat, Johnny’s almost always becomes our first choice. Maybe the reason is because we’re sure of its tom yam soup tastiness. This time we dined at their outlet in Berjaya Times Square.

We ordered Thai Steamboat Set C with tom yam soup.

Thai Chicken Rice (yummy)
Apart from that, we also had Thai Chicken Rice which was delicious and Yam Special. For drinks, we quenched our thirst with Aloe Vera Juice, Pineapple Juice, Chocolate Milk Shake and Young Coconut.

Memang puas hati!

Address: Lot 03-91, 3rd Floor, Berjaya Times Square, No. 1, Jalan Imbi, 55100 Kuala Lumpur. Telephone number: 03 – 2144 1292.

Nasi Arab Taif, Kota Damansara, Mar 2012

Dear Diary,

Middle Eastern cuisine is rapidly making way into Malaysian eating scene. This can be seen by Arabic restaurants mushrooming everywhere. I, who like to eat, more than welcome this development. It means more choices for us.

We enjoyed scrumptious meals at Al Diafah and Tarbush before. Another Arabic eating place that we visited recently was Nasi Arab Taif in Kota Damansara. We’ve patronized this restaurant a few times before but I never snapped pictures or made any entry about it. Asyik miss je!

Actually, I wanted to eat nasi mandy but it already finished when we arrived. It’d take some time before another batch was ready to be served. That was why I decided to try kabsa. All in all, it was a pleasant experience for all of us.

Grill Chicken Half + Bread (yummy), Hummus with Bread

Lamb Kabsa (small), Chicken Kabsa (regular). Both yummy. Lamb & chicken so tender.

Sirap, Apple Juice, Mango Juice & Tea Arab. Teh tu ada rasa herbs tp bukan rasa pudina.

I don’t have the exact address of this restaurant but it is situated at a shop house opposite Giant Kota Damansara.

AEON Bukit Tinggi, Klang, Mar 2012

Dear Diary,

While waiting for movie The Woman In Black to start, the kids had fun quality time together in AEON Bukit Tinggi. I took the opportunity to capture those sweet bonding moments as many as I could.

How I wish these moments could stay forever. Kids grow up so fast. Next thing you know they're all grown up with their own busy lives.

The Woman In Black

Dear Diary,

I was tricked into watching The Woman In Black. Hubby told us to get ready to go out for a movie one day. He also said that tickets were already bought and the film that we were going to watch was a horror film. I was petrified! A horror movie! With kids some more! He coolly reasoned that all other movies were sold out. When we arrived at TGV Jusco Bukit Tinggi, I quickly scanned other films being screened and I could surely say there were other movies still available for us to watch. Ni mesti kes Hubby nak tengok cerita hantu. Tiket dah beli, nak tak nak redah je la.

The Woman In Black is directed by James Watkins with Daniel Radcliffe as Arthur Kipps in lead role. This film, sets in an era gone by, focuses on Arthur Kipps, a young father to a 4 year old son who lost his wife to childbirth. He terribly pines for his wife to the extent of taking his own life. However, he must go on for the sake of his only child.

Kipps, who is a lawyer, is having financial problems. To make matters worse, his job is also at stake. As a last chance, his employer instructed him to go to one remote village to conclude a will case. He arrives safely there but the village folks wouldn’t cooperate. Even the local lawyer isn’t much of a help. It seems that everyone wants him out of there as soon as possible. He is baffled!

For him to finish his job, he must go to Eel Marsh estate. While doing his job, he accidentally unravels the village kept secret behind all children’s tragic deaths. Apparently there’s a connection between Eel Marsh and the deaths. There’s a black lady ghost who is vehemently luring children to taking their own lives. The secret he stumbled upon ties up everything.

Kipps is one persevere man for he continues doing his job despite all hurdles he faces, the uncooperative villagers, the ghostly sightings, the creepy happenings, etc. Even after knowing about the secret, he still goes on and tries to solve the mystery. Well, he has no choice since his son’s life is also in jeopardy. Moreover, his job is on the line. He really needs the money. If it’s up to me, I’d stop there and then. He’s in a desperate situation, so he must complete the case no matter what.

This movie has its fair share of chilling and terrifying moments. Most of them caught you unaware. The scenes are cleverly captured to surprise you when you least expect them. The opening scene showing 3 young girls jumping to their deaths already sent chills up to my spine. One moment they’re playing happily and the next they’re on the edge of window sill ready to take the plunge. Takde angin, takde ribut!
It’s refreshing to watch Daniel Radcliffe in a different role. By the way, Radcliffe is the famous Harry Potter. In this movie, he plays a totally opposite role from Harry Potter. His maturity and acting abilities are visibly seen here.

Be prepared for an unsuspected ending. Tak puas hati betul! Come to think of it, it’s a blessing in disguise for Kipps. Maybe it’s better for him that way because all his problems are kind of solved albeit tragically with this ending.

Ombak Rindu....The Song

Dear Diary,

Don't know why...but this song never fails to tug at my heart every time I listen to it.

OMBAK RINDU
Hafiz & Adira

Tuhan tolong lembutkan hati dia
Untuk terima ku seadanya
Kerna ku tak sanggup
Kerna ku tak mampu
Hidup tanpa dia di sisiku

Tuhan aku tahu banyak dosaku
Hanya ingat Kamu kala dukaku
Namun hanya Kamu yang mampu membuka
Pintu hatinya untuk cinta agung

Malam kau bawalah rinduku
Untuk dirinya yang jauh dariku
Agar dia tidak kesepian
Selalu rasa ada cinta aku

Hujan bawa airmata ku
Yang mengalir membasuh lukaku
Agar dia tahu ku terseksa
Tanpa cinta dia di hatiku

Hanya mampu berserah
Moga cahaya tiba nanti

Tuhan tolong lembutkan hati dia
Untuk terima ku seadanya
Kerna ku tak sanggup
Kerna ku tak mampu
Hidup tanpa dia di sisiku

Haagen Dazs, Sunway Pyramid, Feb 2012

Dear Diary,

After having dinner at Burger King, we indulged into something cool and sweet. It was an ice cream treat but not just any ice cream but Haagen Dazs ice cream. Boleh bilang dengan jari berapa kali je kami makan Haagen Dazs, selalunya Baskin Robbins menjadi pujaan hati.

Belgian Chocolate - taste heavenly

Raspberry Sorbet - taste sourly

Burger King, Sunway Pyramid, Feb 2012

Dear Diary,

I bought Burger King’s voucher through myDEAL a few months back. The RM19.90 voucher consists of 1 Whopper Black Pepper Value Set Meal (medium), 1 BBQ Cheese Burger and 2 medium drinks. I chose to redeem it at Sunway Pyramid’s outlet. In addition to those, we also ordered Double Whopper Set Meal and Chicken Tender.

I took my first bite only to find that something’s amiss. The burger lacked meaty taste. In a haste of things, the Burger King’s worker “forgot” or “missed” putting beef patty in my burger. When I enquired about it, I was given a new Whopper as a replacement without any objection. At last, I can enjoy my juicy Black Pepper Whopper for a burger would be meaningless without the patty right.

If I were to choose between among numerous fast food chains available for best burger, I would choose McDonald’s anytime simply because its burgers are pleasingly tasty and reasonably priced. Still, Burger King would come close in second place. This is solely my opinion based strictly on my taste and experiences.

The Loaf, Empire Shopping Gallery, Feb 2012

Dear Diary,

I’ve wanted to try produces from The Loaf since forever and finally my wishes were fulfilled.

After enjoying a wonderful dinner at Serai, we were treated to some cheesecakes, a brownie and a pastry from The Loaf for desserts. The cheesecakes were splendid! Alhamdulillah…

Serai, Empire Shopping Gallery, Feb 2012

Dear Diary,

Again and again Ermayum mentioned Serai in her blog. Out of curiosity I recommended Serai to Hubby when we went to Empire one night. One thing about Serai is that more often than not you’d have to queue up to be seated. Sometimes if you’re not so lucky, the queue could be quite long. That was the case when we wanted to eat there before that we ended up dining at Ole Ole Bali. This time we waited patiently for about 30 minutes before we were shown to our table.

While waiting to be seated, I feasted my eyes on the array of desserts on display. I was tempted to try them but looking at the prices I quickly cancelled my intention. A slice of cake on average costs more than RM10. Takut tak kena dengan selera, duit dah melayang!

First impression of Serai is cozy. I love its interior décor. So inviting and soothing! Fresh flowers are placed nicely on each table. I praised the speedy service. The employees were attentive and courteous.

Both Hubby and I concurred that the Western dishes were more delicious than the local dishes. The prices for some of the items are on the high end of the scale. Sekali-sekala boleh la, rabak poket kalau selalu-selalu.

Buttered Prawn - yummy

Nasi Ambang

Serai Platter

Crispy Skinned Salmon - yummy

Mini Cheese Burger with Chips (Kid's menu) - yummy

Chicken Mushroom Spaghetti (Kid's menu) - super yummy

Vanilla & Fresh Bananas Shake - yummy, Mint Calamansi Soda - yummy, Serai Iced Tea
