Kitchen Renovation

Dear Diary,

Alhamdulillah, after nearly 1 year of moving in to our own sweet home, we finally renovated our kitchen. Not a full scale renovation, just fixing built in cabinet, oven, hood and gas cooker.

Our kitchen looks more presentable and tidier now.

Syukur teramat sangat dengan rezeki yang Allah beri ni.

Kemanisan Di Sebalik Kepahitan

Kadang kala Allah hilangkan mentari, kemudian Allah datangkan guruh, puas kita menangis mencari mana mentari kita, rupa-rupanya Allah hendak hadiahkan kita pelangi yang indah.

Sabarlah, ada kemanisan di sebalik kepahitan.

Burung oh Burung

Dear Diary,

After years of not buying something "extravaganza" for myself, I recently got me a new digital camera. My good friend Olympus of more than 7 years finally decided to go haywire just weeks before our family holiday in November which left me with not much option. I could always borrow but I just cannot be without a camera.

Here's one picture that I instantly like among hundreds of pictures that I took during the new camera's familiarization process.

Dialect 2

Dear Diary,

Today's words are:

SAT - wait a minute (sekejap,jap,tunggu)
MAI - come here (mari, datang ke sini)
PI - go (pergi)
TANG - at (di, kat)

And here are more words (suggested by my friend SL):

LOQLAQ - clumsy, not behaving nicely, impolite (tak senonoh, kurang ajar)
PEDAI AYAM - padlock or chicken's internal organ that can be eaten (mangga, pedal ayam)
BERANDA - verandah, porch (bahagian depan atau tepi rumah selalunya untuk meletakkan kenderaan)
MARKET - market (pasar)

We, Kedahans, do incorporate English words in our dialect as shown in the last two words.

Ni la akibatnya bila tak mau tidoq tengahari. Dah siap elok-elok nak keluaq, alih-alih tetidoq. Yang tak tahan tu tangan tetap maintain pegang iPad.
