Mieng Kham

Dear Diary,

I was introduced to this food by my father in law. Me being myself who love trying new food went ahead and tried it. I like it! It is widely sold in Kelantan. As for other places, I’m not so sure.

The food that I’m talking about is mieng kham. It is a Thai appetizer that consists of daun kadok, cili padi, roasted peanuts, garlic, shallots, ginger, limes, roasted coconut flakes, dried shrimps and a special sauce. The sauce is mildly spicy with some mixture of sweetness and sourness.

You eat mieng kam by putting everything (each in small portion) on a daun kadok. Next, you fold the leaf into a cone shape and then straight into your mouth.

Chiciq - Lipat jadi bentuk 3 segi silinder (macam pembalut kacang putih tu hihi). Lipat macam mana pun takpa, asalkan boleh masuk mulut. Sedap pasai cukup semua rasa. Tu la dok nampak belah Kelantan ja. Aisyah penah buat sekali time kami balik Kedah.

Chiciq - Memang kecuq ayaq liug aih. Kalau Chiciq pi belah Kelantan, try la benda-benda ni. Yg mempelam tu rapuh sangat kira makan krup krap la tp tak masam (lemak-lemak gitu). Serbuk asam tu yg best. Bukan macam serbuk asam yg dok juai dgn buah potong tu. Dia lain sikit (style Thai rasanya).
