Lost World of Tambun, Ipoh, Mar 2011

Dear Diary,
On our way back to the hotel after attending a friend’s wedding in Sungai Siput, Hubby suddenly made a last minute plan and changed our destination to Lost World of Tambun. We received two complimentary discount vouchers from the hotel and since we’re going home the day after, it was wise to grab the opportunity.
Lost World of Tambun is a theme park situated in Ipoh, Perak. Developed by Sunway, it opens from Monday till Friday (11:00am - 6:00pm). On weekends, school and public holidays, the park opens to public an hour earlier (at 10:00am). It however closes on Tuesdays except on school and public holidays. Entrance fee for adult is RM38, for adult above 55 years is RM32 for children below 12 years is RM32 and for children with height below 90cm is free of charge.
After surfing Lost World’s official website, I came to know that it’s actually a huge theme park. What we discovered was just a tip of the whole park. There are other attractions available for visitors besides the water park. One unique attraction is Hot Springs by Night (6:00pm – 10:00pm). After the water park section closes at 6:00pm, the hot spring section opens and visitors can continue soaking their bodies until night. To pamper those tired bodies, there is also Hot Springs Crystal Spa (3:00pm – 10:00pm). Not only that, there are also Tiger Valley, Petting Zoo, camping sites and amusement park.
Wait, there is more. For those who love outdoor activities, there are tons of thrills available here for example camping, cycling, jungle-trekking, rock climbing, caving, paddle-boat riding and river cruising. Furthermore, in April 2011, Lost World Hotel started operations. All these deserve a second visit don’t you think?
It’s not always you can find me in a baju kurung at a water park. Due to time constraint (we arrived there at about 4:30pm), we didn’t explore the whole park thoroughly. I didn’t even go into the water. Nevertheless, the kids had a blast splashing around!
