Imran's Year 2 at a New School

Dear Diary,

The main reason we decided to hastily move to our new house end of last year is Imran. We didn't want to interrupt his schooling. Our original plan was to move somewhere in March this year. If we stick to the plan, Imran would have to change school in the middle of school year. After some thoughts and rounds of discussions, we took a drastic decision to move in less than a month time. That explains why some of the things that we planned to do were put on hold.

When we broke the news about moving to the children, they were ecstatic. However, after reality sank, Imran had mixed feelings. He was happy to move into a new house and get a room but at the same time he was also sad to change school. He also expressed some worries he couldn’t fit in at the new school. My firstborn is a nostalgic person like his father. He got all melodramatic about didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to his teachers and friends.

Imran woke up early for his first day at Sekolah Kebangsaan Seksyen 13 Shah Alam. He was very excited to start Year 2 but was a bit anxious too. After settling some administration matters, Imran was placed into 2 Jujur. Hubby and I met and had a small chat with his class teacher, Puan Noraisa. To our surprise, there are a few more students who are in the same boat as Imran. One pupil transferred from as far as Sarawak.

After nearly a month at his new school, he is well adapted. He makes new friends. He even updates me each time he makes new friends. So far, he has 6 buddies namely Ashraf, Imran, Naim, Amir, Hadi and Khairul.

One downside though we couldn’t get any school bus for him. There are 3 school bus operators at his school but not one is willing to fetch him. For the time being, Hubby sends and fetches Imran. We pray hopefully sooner or later one school bus service is available.

Ps: Only after uploading this batch of pictures, I realize there’s no decent picture of Imran at his new school.
