If you know your way around Section 6, Kota Damansara, you’d
know that there are Shell, McDonalds, Pizza Hut and KFC there. On the opposite
side of the road from these establishments, there are rows of shop lots. In
that shop lots area, you’ll find many hawker stalls selling variety of foods.
There is also a row of stalls in front of the shop lots by
the main road where many cars can be seen parked during lunch hour be it on
weekdays or weekends. All these people go there to enjoy tasty meals at Nasi
Ayam Warisan, a stall selling chicken rice. I used to frequent it in my working
days.
After a long hiatus, I revisit the stall in October last
year. The stall’s eating space is bigger now with more workers serving
customers. A plate of chicken rice is priced RM4.50 only. It’s very cheap. Another specialty here is Sup
Kaki Ayam which is sold at RM2 per bowl.
Steamed chicken
During my recent visit, I came across a weakness that
dampens my enthusiasm of eating there. Their ordering system is unsystematic.
After customers have their seats, waiters came to the tables and took the
orders. Up until now, the system operates normally like any other eating
places. However, it went haywire from there. After taking customer orders at
the tables, the waiters will shout out the orders to the persons who are
preparing chicken rice at the stall’s work area. The chances for the food
preparer to hear the shouts are minimal what with all the noises from
customers, workers, vehicles and surroundings. Another thing is how the food
preparer knows which shout order is for which tables. We had to order more than
twice before getting what we exactly ordered. Nasib baiklah cuma jual nasi ayam
ja, kalau tak lagi la kelam-kabut.
I don't have the exact address of the stall but it's located by the main road of Section 6, Kota Damansara (in front of 7 Eleven).
