Skypark Terminal, LTSAAS, May 2011

Dear Diary,

In the beginning of 1996, I was going to USA to further my studies. I still remember I departed from Terminal 3 of Lapangan Terbang Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (LTSAAS) after teary goodbyes with my parents and my youngest brother. With ambition and hopes as high as the mountain, I boarded the plane. That was my first ever experience on a flight. Then in 1998, I came home with a degree and transited at the same place. Such a bittersweet memory!!

Once a major landmark in Klang Valley, it was known as Terminal 3 then but now after rebranding and a major facelift, it is named Skypark Terminal. Last May for the second time after so many years, I stepped into the newly renovated LTSAAS. Unlike the first time in November 2010, this time I had ample time to explore the place after checking in. Not like LCCT which is forever congested with people, Skypark is not overcrowded. You can walk leisurely passing through many establishments such as Big Apple, Starbucks, McDonalds, etc.

The reason we were at the Skypark was because we took Firefly flight to Alor Setar for my sister’s wedding. I always prefer Firefly to Air Asia. Though we have to fork out a bit more money for the airfare, but after a few not so pleasant experiences with Air Asia, I don’t mind paying extra. Furthermore, LTSAAS is nearer to my parents in law’s house and Hubby’s office. On the same note, elderly passengers and passengers with children are given priority boarding. Not to mention, you’ll get refreshments on board.

Imran and Zarra were thrilled to be on a plane. They called any Firefly stewardess in sight Awan Dania. How hilarious! Irfan, well, he’s just being himself…exploring everything within reach. Thank goodness, none of them made any fuss. We had an enjoyable flight and safely arrived in Alor Setar to be greeted by my parents, my brother and his daughters.
