Last year’s Aidiladha was celebrated in my mother in law’s kampung – Bukit Betong, Kuala Lipis, Pahang. Jangan tak tau mak mertua i satu kampung dengan Siti Norhaliza.
This was the first time for the kids to celebrate raya in Pahang. We usually take turn between Kedah and Kelantan, seldom in Pahang. Imran and Zarra were excited to experience real kampung life with the wooden house, farm animals, fruit trees, river and what not. From the second we arrived until we went back, they were playing and running around enjoying themselves tremendously.
Korban was performed by some of the relatives. The korban portions were brought back and processed at home. My mother in law has 11 siblings altogether. Orchestrating a kenduri was not a problem at all when everybody lent a helping hand. Furthermore, almost all the elder women in the family are great chefs.
That night we feasted on traditional Pahang dishes. Apart from the korban meat, tempoyak was another main ingredient in the meal.
2 notes of inspiration:
salam kak..mak saye pun org bukit betong jugak :)
